is set up in honour of Harriet Jiraba who died tragically in a road accident in Northern Uganda in October 2010, along with her father and brother. Harriet was an outstanding student who qualified as a nurse in Uganda and then returned to South Sudan where she worked in Primary and Community Health as a nurse with verious agencies.
She was a popular, hospitable young lady who is greatly missed by her husband, daughter and other family members as well as her many friends and colleagues.
Harriet remained grateful to those who sponsored her at the different stages of her own education and was passionate that other girls would have the same opportunities. A scholarship fund to assist South Sudanese girls to become teachers or nurses would be very close to her heart.
